MTB Skills Finale Waiver
If you’ve arrived at this point, it’s probably because a friend, riding buddy, or family member told you to try a lesson with us. Most of our riders come through word of mouth — people who’ve already experienced how different MTB Skills Finale feels compared to a typical lesson.
We’re excited to ride with you!
At MTB Skills Finale, your safety and progress are our top priorities. Our teaching method is unique — developed in New Zealand in 2003, and further refined here in Finale through years of riding, observation, and coaching more than 5000 real riders. We’ve chosen to stay independent (not tied to any federation) so we can use the techniques we know to be the most effective.
Here’s what you can expect:
• Skills are always introduced in a safe and controlled setting first.
• You’ll only take a new technique onto the trail once you’ve mastered it in that safe space.
• We’ll never put you in unreasonable danger — lessons are designed to build confidence step by step.
• Mountain biking does carry inherent risks, and part of riding is learning to manage them. That’s why we ask you to wear the right safety gear, and to read and sign our waiver form before we start.
The waiver is a standard part of any outdoor sports activity. It simply makes clear that you understand the risks of mountain biking, and that while we’ll always put your safety first, you accept those risks as part of the sport. We look forward to helping you unlock your riding potential and experience the flow and freedom of mountain biking here in Finale!
MTB Skills Finale – Waiver & Assumption of Risk
MTB Skills Finale offers independent mountain bike skills coaching. Our methods are uniquely developed through years of riding, observation, and teaching, and are not affiliated with any external federation, association, or governing body. We have chosen independence deliberately, because it allows us to use the techniques we know to be most effective, rather than following a one-size-fits-all system.
By signing this document, you waive or give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue or claim compensation following an accident.
Please read carefully.
ASSUMPTION OF RISKS
Mountain biking is an activity that takes place on steep, rugged, and unpredictable terrain. It involves features that are both physically and technically challenging and can expose riders to risks, dangers, and hazards. Injuries are a common and expected part of mountain biking.
I have been advised to wear an approved helmet and other protective equipment such as elbow and knee guards when riding. Use of a helmet is mandatory.
I am aware of the risks, dangers, and hazards associated with mountain biking and I freely accept and fully assume all such risks, including the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage, or loss.
SAFETY COMMITMENT
At MTB Skills Finale, the safety of every rider is our highest priority.
• At no point in any lesson will a client be placed in unreasonable danger.
• All techniques are first introduced and practiced in a safe, controlled environment.
• Only once a rider has demonstrated mastery of a skill in that safe setting will it be applied to a suitable track or trail.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
In consideration of my participation in coaching with MTB Skills Finale, I agree:
1. To waive any and all claims that I have or may in the future have against MTB Skills Finale, its owner(s), coaches, and representatives, and to release them from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense, or injury (including death) that I may suffer as a result of my participation.
2. To hold harmless and indemnify MTB Skills Finale from any and all liability for property damage, loss, or personal injury to any third party resulting from my participation.
3. To acknowledge that MTB Skills Finale is an independent coaching provider, not affiliated with any federation or outside certification program, and that my participation is voluntary and based on my acceptance of this independence.
CONFIRMATION
I confirm that I have read and understood this agreement prior to agreeing to it. I am aware that by signing the agreement I am waiving certain legal rights, including the right to sue.
